Let’s Kickstart Developer Adoption on Hydra! 🚀

Hi everyone, and Happy New Year! :tada:

I wanted to bring up something important: projects are the heart and soul of any blockchain. Without them, even the best technology can feel empty. So, how can we encourage more projects to build on Hydra or even expand to include Hydra in their plans?

We all know what makes Hydra great and even better than current Tier 1 chains:

Super-fast transactions (finalized in 0.5 seconds!) that don’t sacrifice decentralization.
Low fees that make sending even tiny amounts affordable.
Easy tools for developers like full support for Ethereum-based apps and wallets.
Now that Hydra has all these advantages, the big question is: How do we get developers to notice us and start using the chain?

Let’s brainstorm together! Some ideas might be:

Offering grants or rewards to projects that launch on Hydra.
Organize contests to show developers what Hydra can do.
Partnering with platforms or influencers to spread the word about Hydra’s strengths.

This is a huge opportunity for us to grow! Let’s share ideas and make Hydra the go-to place for new and exciting projects.

Please share your thoughts, I feel we have the momentum of the bullmarket working for us as long as we as a community come together and work on it. Lets start by sharing ideas.

I love the initiative to start a conversation about what we as a community can do.

I hope everyone in the community will pitch in and share ideas.

I do think we need some more pieces in place before we will be really attractive for existing projects, but it doesn’t hurt to start talking and reaching out to projects (preferably one that we are active in). I would guess most of the Hydra Hodlers also hold other tokens and perhaps active in their community and have some credibility there, this could be a good starting point?

I think this is one of the most important topic right now, to ensure that the project can reach out to a further audience. But it won’t be straightforward, since we need to attract more users / community first, in order to get the attention of the developers, and project managers.

My first suggestion would be to get the new chain integrated in the current partnership project Sugarverse, making it available to connect to an Hydra wallet to get game rewards. This would work as a real case integration scenario, and use it as an example for other already existing projects.

I’d also bet on getting Hydra known to more crypto users. That doesn’t seem to work by using traditional marketing / paid articles and ads, so we could try a different approach: getting Hydra available in as many on/off ramp and swap platforms as possible (DeXes).
We all know that getting listed on new CeXs is complicated and very, very expensive, so this could be our next best option. When it’s time to do a transaction, usually users tend to search for the least expensive option in terms of fees, and use it as an intermediate for whatever they’re trying to do (buy/sell fiat, for example). So this would work as a first contact with Hydra for many new potential users.
That’s at least how I got to buy and use many other projects that I didn’t previously knew

Reach out to indie game devs and let them get small funding if they include NFTs by Hydra.

I see that someone already mentioned that it is expensive to get listed on Cexes and yes Dexes would be great but I feel like it is important to maintain a presence on some form of Cexes since as far as I am aware those are the only way to have an on and off ramp. It is also how I found Hydra, Having a trading pair vs USDC/ USDT/ BTC/ or maybe we find a way to get a RLUSD pair. Some of those are important and the staking rewards draw people to buy and hodl but not if they cant figure out how to get their value out in the end.
I mean we have Whydra, hydra, and Lydra but we need to ask ourselves what would drive someone to want to trade into these pairs and is it clear and obvious?
I personally just spent a month trying to figure out how to get my Hydra to bridge but just kept getting error messages and in the end it turned out that I had half my Hydra as wrapped Lydra that I had to figure out on my own even though I had a support person helping me… I had to figure out that I had to go to the Swap function and swap half my Hydra into Lydra and then go to the Lydra tab and burn my Lydra to get my Hydra back and then I could bridge but only on my phone app because the computer extension didnt have those options… that is so rediculously complicated that you cant expect anyone to look at that and say hey that is where I want to be doing my buisness. The use of this Hydra chain is only useful if it is easy to navigate and it should be clear where your value is and how to access it and how to lock it back up ect.
One thing that I would like to point out is that there are 10 different Hydra related pages but none of them are tied together. they are all individually bookmarked on my browser and I had to find out about each one from a different person. There should be a clear main page for Hydra and it should have every page as a tab along the top or the side so It is easy and clear to navigate and see what Hydra has to offer. There should be no word of mouth when it comes to navigating a blockchain.
Main page
Dex/Dao/Bridge/Staking/White paper/(hylighted projects)/(Funding info)/Contact us info/ (Partnership info)/ECT.

and all of those should have a tab to get back to the main page. Just my 2 cents.

Main Ways to Attract Developers

  1. Incentivize Developers: Offer bounties, grants, or free access to tools and resources to motivate developers to build on your blockchain.

  2. Host Hackathons and Competitions: Organize hackathons or developer competitions to engage the community, showcase your blockchain’s potential, and foster innovation.

  3. Join Conferences as Speakers: Attend industry conferences and participate as speakers to share insights, build credibility, and connect with developers.

Provide Robust Documentation, Developer Tools (SDKs etc), Comprehensive Support - I hope we have it.

There are several DeXes that offer on / off ramp services. ChangeX is one of them, but there are many others.
I usually use Bridge wallet from Mt Pelerin, and would love to see Hydra listed there. Some hours ago I decided to buy Avax using Fiat, to get Hydra. In the past I used 3 or 4 different coins to get Hydra, simply because I’m not allowed to buy it directly.

I’m pretty sure many people would start using Hydra, even before they know anything about the project, just because the fees are lower. That makes it cheaper to move to a CeX, and then swap for USDT/C, so you can start trading
